OVERVIEW
Live like a farmer for a day in Nepal will be an exquisite moment to remember. Agriculture is the center of Nepal’s economy, yet the country still faces challenges in food production. Nepal is generally an Agro-Biodiversity country, where several types of crops are produced in different places of Nepal. Also, the people of Nepal raise different kinds of livestock, which fall under agriculture.
A Day in the Life of a Nepalese Farmer
In Nepal, you can live like a farmer, raising livestock, or cultivating crops, or vegetable farming is also a good choice. So, based on your requirements, we will arrange everything you need to live like a farmer for a day.
During this immersive experience, you’ll take part in hands-on farming activities like:
- Raising livestock
- Vegetable farming
- Cultivating crops
You will have a multiple choice: Organic Farm, Livestock Farm, or engage with villagers and help them out with their usual work.
Based on your preferences, we’ll arrange everything needed for your farming adventure. You can choose from the following options:
- Organic Farm Experience
- Livestock Farm Visit
- Village Farming and Community Engagement
Organic and Livestock farming are generally available at all times of the year; you can participate any day. You will sleep on the farm site and wake up early in the morning like the other farmers, and you will spend all day with them side by side doing the actual work.
Seasonal Farming Activities
While organic and livestock farming are available year-round, seasonal farming activities depend on the time of year. For example:
- June to August (Monsoon Season): Join the farmers in the muddy fields to plant rice.
- Asadh 15 (Nepali Calendar): Celebrate National Paddy Day—an exciting cultural event marking the beginning of the rice planting season.
This seasonal experience adds cultural depth and unforgettable memories to your trip.
If you come in a month like June-August, you can spend your days sowing paddy in the muddy field. There is a day when the celebration and sowing of paddy starts, and that falls on Asadh 15 (Nepali Calendar).
