OVERVIEW

One of the best ways to spend time around Kathmandu is by doing a day hike with monks at Pharping. Pharping is a famous place that holds numerous Buddhist monasteries, along with the significant Hindu temple, Dakshinkali Temple.

Pharping is a sacred place for those who follow the Tibetan Buddhist Religion, as famous Tibetan guru Padmasambhava, widely known as Guru Rinpoche has attained enlightenment in this place.

Also, Pharping has a history resembling the first hydropower plant in Nepal, known as the Chandra Jyoti Griha which used to supply electricity to the royal palace. Now, it is just a living museum and supply water to certain parts of Lalitpur.
