Bhaktapur day trip :  UNESCO’s listed two World Heritage Sites, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Changunarayan Temple.

Inside Kathmandu Valley there used to be 3 small kingdoms in the past now there are 3 towns those are Kathmandu, patan and Bhaktapur.  Our Bhaktapur day trip is an especially designed trip on which one can closely observe the ancient kingdom of Nepal. ITINERARY

  • Day 01: Drive to Bhaktapur, Visit Durbar Square and around places, Visit Changu Narayan Temple, Drive back to the hotel

    • Drive to Bhaktapur city

    You will have breakfast in your hotel. Around 9:30, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and will take you to the beautiful Bhaktapur city.

    On the way, you can see the rush environment, places surrounded with full of people, busy markets, shops, and beautiful highways with trees and flowers.

    • Visit Durbar Square and around places

    Once you reach Bhaktapur Durbar Square, you can feel the calmness, spiritually bonded, and the beauty of the squares. You will experience the small alleys taking you towards the square. Outside the square, you will get to witness a couple of ponds. Siddhapokhari pond is the popular and largest pond in the city which will provide you the experience of feeding food to fish. Also, you will get to see the Rani Pokhari. And the Guhya Pokhari, from where you will have a clear view of the mountains. This is a beautiful pond to stop by.

    Once you pass these ponds, you will enter the small alley “galli”, from where you will reach Durbar Square. The most famous four Squares will be the main attraction to watch. Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Pottery Square, and Dattatray Square. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a royal palace and holds the ancient history of Nepal. You will explore this amazing palace with a royal bath, courtyards, and temples. Also, you will be mesmerized by the architecture in each nook and corner around Durbar Square. Everything you touch or see has some unique design, a story, and a question about how those were made in ancient times when there was no technology that is available today.

    Pottery Square is well known for pottery where you will witness the potters making pots, vases, etc. You will see the pots and vases all over the square and can buy from the actual makers. Taumadhi Square also, or Nyatapola Square, is the second most important and famous square. This square is well known for the five-story temple. In the surroundings of this square, you will find the rooftop café and restaurant which are almost packed because of the beautiful view of Nyatapola Temple. The Dattatreya Square is said to be the oldest area with fine-crafted wood places everywhere. It is also called an open museum.

    These four squares are the center of attractions but besides that, you can enter the National Art Museum to explore the arts like Thangka Paintings. The art you explore inside will tell you the stories of Kings with a description. You will be amazed. You can find this art museum while you are in Durbar Square.

    Similarly, you can also visit the National Art Museum exhibiting woods. You will find this museum in the Dattatreya Square. Once you enter inside, you will find amazing and unbelievable wood cravings.

    After exploring these different places, we will now have lunch. During lunch time we will watch from the Durbar Square view and take our time before we go to our next destination.

    We have two options to reach Changu Narayan Temple. You can have 2 hours hike or you can go by taxi.

    • Visit Changu Narayan Temple

    Changunarayan Temple is one of the heritage sites from UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The oldest temple dating back to 467 AD, has intriguing stone sculptures and different writings can be found in copper and stone. One can witness ancient designs, cravings, and much more.

    • Drive back to the Hotel

    We will drive back to your hotel.

    In the evening, you can stroll around the places in Kathmandu like Thamel, Durbarmarg, etc.
